Assistant Engineer II (Water and Sewerage)
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Water Engineering from a recognized institution;
- Registration from Engineers Registration Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer; and
- Certificate in computer application from a recognized institution.
Duties and responsibilities
- This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include; –
- Carrying out feasibility analysis;
- Planning and designing water supply and sewerage infrastructures; andiii. Carrying out research activities in various aspects of water, sewerage and hydraulic systems.
Cooperatives Auditor I
Requirement for appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Commerce (Accounting / Finance Option), Economics (Upper 2nd), Mathematics, Statistics or Co – operative Management from a recognized institution;
OR
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Kenya part III or Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) part IV from a recognized institution; and
- Certificate in computer application from a recognized institution.
Duties and responsibilities
- Examining all books of accounts of co-operative societies in accordance with the law, rules and regulations;
- Preparing detailed audit observations; and
- Verifying statement of accounts and reporting the findings to immediate supervisor.
Library Assistant II – 2 Posts
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Diploma in any of the following disciplines: – Library and Information Science; Library and Information Studies; or Library, Archives and Records Management from a recognized institution; and
- Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
Duties and responsibilities
- Accessioning, stamping and labeling of all the acquired information resources;
- Shelving and shelf arrangement;
- Charging and discharging library resources;
- Pasting date due labels;
- Preparing file pockets and press cuttings;
- Spine marking;
- Fixing book jackets;
- Listing of materials for binding; and
- Filing catalogue cards.
Senior Principal Superintending Engineer (Director) – Water and Sewerage
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
- Served for a minimum period of nine (9) years and be in the grade of Senior Superintending Engineer (Water and Sewerage) Job Group ‘N’ and above;
OR
- Served for a minimum period of twelve (12) years, three (3) of which should be at Senior Management Level in the wider public service or the Private Sector;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Water Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Master’s degree in Civil/Water Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Registered by Engineers Registration Board of Kenya as a Professional Engineer;
- Current valid annual Practicing License from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;
- Registered as a member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK);
- Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution and
- Demonstrated general administrative ability required for direction, control and implementation of water and sewerage engineering programs and projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- An officer at this level will be the Director of Water and Sewerage Services in the County and will be responsible to the Chief Officer – Water and Sanitation for planning, directing, controlling and coordinating technical and administrative activities of water and sewerage systems. Specific duties and responsibilities will entail: –
- Preparing professional and quality standards for construction of water supply and sewerage infrastructure;
- Overseeing the construction of water and sewerage works undertaken directly or by contract;
- Formulating, monitoring and evaluating requirements of physical and financial progress of development projects and programmes;
- Verifying technical tender documents on water supply and sewerage infrastructure;
- Overseeing the formulation of water pricing policies and strategies for rural, urban and waste water systems; and
- Liaising with development partners and other stakeholders in the water sector for effective formulation, planning, coordination and implementation of projects and programs.
- In addition, the officer will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plan and work plans; budgeting for the
- Department; and deployment, training and development of staff in the Department.
