About Terre des Hommes
Terre des Hommes Netherlands aims to protect children by preventing and ending child exploitation, while empowering children to raise their voices. We focus on (online) sexual exploitation of children, child labor, and humanitarian aid. For each of these forms of exploitation, we develop and implement projects and programs through local partners, primarily in Asia, Africa, and Europe. Join us!
Online Marketing
Do you feel passionate about children’s rights and online marketing? Are you someone who seeks innovation over maintaining the status quo? Are you a creative, hands-on team player who can connect audiences to the work of Terre des Hommes in new ways? Do terms like SEA, social campaigns, analytics, conversion optimization, email marketing, customer/donor journeys, and A/B testing excite you? Are you results-driven?
Then this is the challenge for you! Starting June 1st, we are looking for an independent and results-oriented Online Marketer (32–36 hours/week) to join our private fundraising team (8 people). Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus, but not required—as long as you understand the dynamics of a non-profit organization.
We’re looking for someone who will help us maximize results from our online channels. Your responsibilities include attracting new potential donors through lead generation and contributing to increased revenue from our existing base through marketing automation journeys. Many opportunities are waiting to be explored, and we need your help to take our online fundraising to the next level.
Your Role
As Online Marketer, you will be responsible for developing and executing an impactful online marketing strategy focused on activation, conversion optimization, and online fundraising. Your tasks are diverse and dynamic:
- You will create targeted online campaigns to attract new donors aligned with our mission and audience. With creativity and strategic insight, you’ll inspire them to support our cause.
- You will work with agencies to execute and optimize search engine and social media campaigns.
- You’ll analyze traffic and conversion from campaigns and donor journeys, turning insights into improvements.
- You’ll continuously work to optimize our website’s user experience and conversion.
- You’ll manage and optimize our lead and donation forms.
- You’ll contribute to developing and executing an effective email marketing strategy.
- You’ll translate market trends and developments into new online marketing and activation applications for our organization.
- You’ll act as a sparring partner for a passionate team of communication, marketing, and fundraising professionals on a wide range of projects.
- You’ll be part of our webcare team, monitoring responses on our social media channels.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone with the following expertise and skills:
- A completed (online) marketing-related HBO/WO education;
- At least 2–3 years of proven experience in online marketing;
- Demonstrated experience with Google Analytics and online advertising;
- You are results-driven and enjoy working with targets;
- You are structured and capable of managing multiple projects at once;
- You work data-driven and are experienced with tools like Google Analytics, Marketing Cloud, Hotjar, VWO, Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI or Looker Studio;
- You have experience developing test plans;
- You understand audience-centric thinking and have experience in developing online customer journeys;
- Experience with Marketing Cloud and Salesforce is a plus;
- Experience with an NGO or social organization is a plus;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to create support among stakeholders;
- Excellent command of Dutch and English.
Why You’ll Love Working with Us
At Terre des Hommes, you make a daily impact by protecting children from exploitation and abuse. You’ll work alongside dedicated colleagues who share your passion for creating a safer world. We provide an innovative, supportive environment with room to realize your ideas.
- A 1-year contract with the intention to extend to a permanent position;
- Salary in scale 10: €4,002.30 – €5,162.40 gross per month (based on 36 hours, depending on experience);
- A 36-hour work week considered full-time, with the option to work 4×9 and take one day off weekly;
- Flexible working hours in consultation with your manager;
- Hybrid working: 50% at the office, 50% from home;
- Our office is located in the vibrant heart of The Hague, city of international human rights;
- 25 days of paid leave annually (pro rata for part-time);
- Reimbursement for cycling to work or an NS public transport card;
