Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Bursary Programme 2026 for Young South Africans

Applications are now open for the 2026 Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Bursary Programme.
The JSE is dedicated to empowering and developing South Africa’s future leaders through education. In line with Nelson Mandela’s words, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” the JSE Empowerment Fund (JEF) was established to support talented and deserving students as they pursue their academic dreams.
The JEF provides bursary opportunities to previously disadvantaged students who are currently in their 2nd or 3rd year of study or pursuing postgraduate (Honours) degrees in select disciplines.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the JSE Bursary Programme 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Field of Study:
Applicants must be enrolled full-time in one of the following degree programmes:-
Computer Science

Mathematics
-
Actuarial Science

Information Technology
-
Informatics
-
Data Analytics
-
Economics
-
Finance
-
Accounting
-

Eligible Universities:
Only applications from students studying at the following South African universities will be considered:-
University of Pretoria

University of Johannesburg

University of the Witwatersrand

Nelson Mandela University

University of Cape Town
-
University of Limpopo

North-West University
-
University of Fort Hare

University of KwaZulu-Natal

Applicants must attach the following documents to their application:-
Certified copy of ID

Proof of registration

Latest academic record

Proof of household income
-
Proof of residence

Affidavit confirming the accuracy of all submitted information

Minimum Requirements
-
Applicants must be South African citizens from designated groups.

The combined annual household income should not exceed R650,000.
-
Only students in their 2nd year, 3rd year, or Honours level will be considered.

Applicants must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70%.
