Apply for UNDP GEF SGP Funding: Grants Up to $50,000 for Community Projects
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP), implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is inviting community-based organizations, NGOs, CSOs, village councils, academic institutions, and activist groups to submit proposals for funding in environmental conservation and sustainable development.
This initiative provides financial and technical support to help local communities implement projects that protect the environment, strengthen livelihoods, and promote community-driven solutions to global challenges.
Background and Funding Overview
The GEF Small Grants Programme empowers civil society organizations to undertake projects that contribute to both local development and global environmental goals. Through this programme, communities can access funding to address issues such as biodiversity loss, climate change, land degradation, and pollution.
Projects funded by the SGP emphasize community ownership, sustainability, and innovation, ensuring long-term impact at the grassroots level.
