Job Summary
Bayer East Africa is seeking a Supply Chain Management Lead for Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) to oversee the end-to-end (E2E) supply chain strategy and operations. The role ensures reliable product availability, efficient distribution, optimized costs, and high customer satisfaction across multiple markets. The successful candidate will lead transformation initiatives, digitalization, and cross-functional collaboration to enable sustainable growth and supply reliability across SSA.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Supply Chain Leadership

Ensure uninterrupted market supply of seeds and crop protection products.

Manage S&OP/E processes, optimize inventory, and drive customer satisfaction.

Oversee logistics, warehousing, and distribution strategies for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Balance flexibility, cash flow, and cost to improve the overall cost-to-serve.
2. Integrated Planning and Decision Making

Translate sales forecasts into accurate supply plans.

Partner with commercial teams to support new product launches and distribution planning.

Align supply reliability with the Africa Growth Strategy.
3. Digitalization and Excellence

Implement digital supply chain tools and performance dashboards.

Enhance Master Data Management to support real-time decision-making.

Foster continuous improvement through automation and data-driven solutions.
4. Leadership and People Development

Lead and coach cross-functional supply chain and customer service teams.

Build a strong talent pipeline and promote a culture of collaboration, agility, and innovation.

Drive adoption of Bayer’s VACC leadership model — Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coach.
5. Compliance and Sustainability

Ensure all supply chain operations meet regulatory, trade, and safety standards.

Champion sustainability initiatives and promote responsible logistics practices.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA preferred).

Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in product supply, logistics, or customer service.

Proven leadership in end-to-end supply chain management within complex, multi-country operations.

Strong understanding of Crop Protection and Seeds lifecycle, regulatory frameworks, and trade logistics across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Expertise in S&OP, S&OE, demand-supply balancing, inventory optimization, and digital transformation.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and multicultural teams.

Excellent analytical, communication, and change management skills.

Proficiency in English; additional regional languages are an advantage.
