Call for Applications: Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility Programme (Academic Faculty)

Partnership Between Amref International University (AMIU) and the University of Alcalá (UAH), Spain

Amref International University (AMIU) is pleased to invite applications from eligible academic staff to participate in the Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility Programme, in partnership with the University of Alcalá (UAH), Spain.

This prestigious international mobility opportunity supports short-term faculty exchanges designed to enhance teaching excellence, academic collaboration, international exposure, and professional development.

1. Programme Overview

Successful applicants will undertake a teaching mobility visit at the University of Alcalá (UAH) under the Erasmus+ KA171 framework.

• Mobility Type: Academic Staff Teaching Mobility

• Duration: 5 working days (excluding travel days)

• Host Institution: University of Alcalá (UAH), Alcalá de Henares, Spain

• Planned Mobility Period: Between May and July 2026

2. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

• Be a full-time teaching academic staff member at Amref International University (AMIU).

• Hold a PhD or be currently pursuing a PhD (added advantage).

• Have an existing teaching collaboration or active professional connection with a counterpart at the University of Alcalá (UAH).

• Clearly demonstrate how the proposed mobility will contribute to AMIU’s academic, teaching, and institutional goals.

• Obtain formal endorsement from their Supervisor.

3. Required Application Documents

Applicants must submit one compiled PDF file containing the following documents:

1. Copy of a valid passport (bio-data page).

2. Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).

3. Staff Mobility Agreement for Teaching (SMT) – duly signed by the applicant and the prospective UAH host professor.

4. Invitation Letter from a UAH professor or department outlining:

   • Purpose of the visit

   • Proposed dates

   • Teaching activities to be undertaken

5. Applicant Information Table, as required in the UAH Erasmus+ manual.

4. Selection Criteria

Applications will be assessed competitively based on:

• Relevance of proposed teaching activities to AMIU’s academic programmes.

• Alignment with the objectives of the Erasmus+ KA171 Programme.

• Applicant’s motivation and expected institutional impact.

• Commitment to gender balance and equitable departmental representation.

5. Funding and Support

Selected participants will receive an Erasmus+ grant, which covers:

• Travel costs, based on EU distance band calculations.

• Daily subsistence allowance for the entire mobility period.

Successful applicants will also receive guidance on all post-selection requirements, including:

• Grant agreement signing

• Insurance arrangements

• Attendance certification

• Final reporting in line with University of Alcalá (UAH) and Erasmus+ guidelines
