Job Purpose

The Financial Institutions Relationship Manager will drive growth by originating, managing, and deepening relationships with financial institutions. The role involves developing tailored banking solutions, maximizing profitability, ensuring compliance, and acting as a trusted partner for FI clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate new FI business opportunities (interbank lending, treasury, trade finance, custody, correspondent banking).

• Cross-sell banking products to maximize wallet share from existing clients.

• Negotiate competitive, profitable deals while ensuring compliance with policies.

• Develop and execute account strategies for key FI clients.

• Engage senior client stakeholders (CFOs, Treasurers, CEOs) to align solutions.

• Prepare comprehensive credit proposals and ensure proper legal documentation (ISDA, CSA, GMSLA, etc.).

• Monitor creditworthiness, market trends, and competitor activity.

• Resolve client issues and conduct regular service reviews to maintain SLAs.

• Coordinate seamlessly with Treasury, Trade Finance, Legal, and Operations.

• Maintain accurate CRM pipelines and provide performance reports.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Banking/Finance, Economics, or related field (Master’s/CFA/CPA(K)/ACI preferred).

• 5–7 years’ proven experience in FI relationship management, treasury, or commercial banking.

• Strong track record of achieving and exceeding revenue/business growth targets.

• Expertise in treasury, trade finance, cash management, and credit products.

• Skilled in credit analysis, deal structuring, and senior-level negotiations.

• Deep knowledge of Kenya’s financial market and CBK regulations.

• Excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder engagement skills.
