About the Programme
Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 Commonwealth Foundation Grants Programme. The Foundation is offering grants of up to £60,000 to civil society organizations (CSOs) across the Commonwealth.
The open call grants are designed to facilitate constructive engagement between civil society and decision-makers, with a strong focus on policy development and implementation.
Funding Priorities
Projects must align with at least one of the Commonwealth Foundation’s priority themes:

Freedom of Expression

Climate Justice
Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be not-for-profit civil society organisations (CSOs) registered in an eligible Commonwealth Foundation Member State.

Organisations must demonstrate a minimum of three years’ experience in participatory governance and advocacy within the proposed project area.

Organisations registered and operating for less than three years are not eligible.

CSOs currently implementing or recently completing a Commonwealth Foundation grant (without final payment received) are ineligible.

Proposed projects must begin after August 1, 2026, and before the end of September 2026.
