French Government Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme 2026 for Master’s & PhD Study in France (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the 2026 French Government Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme. Established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship enables French higher education institutions to attract outstanding international students for Master’s and PhD programmes.
This prestigious programme targets future leaders and decision-makers in both the public and private sectors, with priority given to specific fields of study. Applicants must be under 30 years old for Master’s programmes and under 35 years old for PhD programmes.
Areas of Study
The Eiffel scholarships cover two broad fields—Science and Technology and Humanities and Social Sciences—with the following priority disciplines:

Levels of Study
French higher education institutions that nominate candidates for the Eiffel Programme agree to enroll them in:

Master’s degree programmes

Engineering degree programmes
-
Joint doctoral programmes (with co-supervised dissertations and/or dual degrees) in partnership with foreign institutions
Duration of the Scholarship
Master’s Level
-
Up to 12 months for M2 (second year of a Master’s)

Up to 24 months for M1 (first year of a Master’s)

Up to 36 months for an engineering degree
Doctorate Level
-
Between 12 and 36 months, starting September 1, 2026
Benefits of the Eiffel Scholarship
Master’s Students

Monthly allowance of €1,200 (from January 2026)

Additional services: international and national transportation, insurance, housing support, cultural activities
PhD Students

Monthly stipend of €2,100 (from January 2026)

Applications must be submitted through French higher education institutions that nominate candidates to Campus France. Individual applications sent directly by students are not accepted.
