Nairobi Rivers Commission Hiring 20 Clerk of Works Interns (FY 2025/2026).

The Nairobi Rivers Commission (NRC) has announced 20 internship vacancies for the position of Clerk of Works Intern under the River Regeneration Project for the Financial Year 2025/2026.

The internship will support ongoing river restoration and environmental rehabilitation activities within Nairobi.


Position Details

  • Job Title: Clerk of Works Intern

  • Number of Positions: 20

  • Duty Station: NRC / River Regeneration Project Sites – Nairobi

  • Duration: Five (5) Months (ending 30th June 2026)

  • Stipend: As per prevailing Government / Public Service Commission (PSC) guidelines


About Nairobi Rivers Commission (NRC)

The Nairobi Rivers Commission was established through Kenya Gazette Notice No. 13907 to coordinate the restoration, regeneration, and beautification of the Nairobi Rivers Basin. The Commission is currently implementing structured interventions under the River Regeneration Project aimed at environmental restoration and urban river management.


Key Responsibilities

Successful interns will:

  • Assist in daily site supervision and monitoring of river regeneration activities

  • Document environmental compliance and occupational safety measures

  • Track project implementation progress

  • Participate in routine site inspections

This role involves field-based supervision and technical support at active project sites.


Requirements for Appointment

Applicants must:

  • Be a Kenyan citizen

  • Have graduated in 2019 or later

  • Hold a Degree or Diploma from a recognized institution in any of the following disciplines:

    • Civil Engineering

    • Building Construction / Construction Management

    • Environmental Engineering / Environmental Studies

    • Information Communication Technology (ICT)

    • Accounts and Finance

    • Or a related field

  • Be proficient in computer applications

  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Be willing to work under field conditions

Applicants residing within the Nairobi River Corridors will have an added advantage.
