Job Summary
Standard Chartered Bank is seeking a Collector, Tele-Recoveries to manage and recover charged-off accounts and accounts under litigation for non-performing installment loans. The role focuses on executing collection strategies, minimizing credit losses, supporting litigation processes, and improving credit approval processes through lessons learned.
Key Responsibilities
Debt Recovery & Collections

Manage day-to-day collections to minimize losses and maximize recovery.

Review recovery processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Engage solicitors throughout litigation to ensure optimal recoveries at minimal legal costs.

Maintain MIS statistical information for monitoring performance and trends.
Credit Risk & Process Improvement
-
Highlight and analyze credit failures to improve the credit approval process.
-
Monitor underwriting quality and provide feedback to the credit team.

Contribute to loan process improvement to enhance customer retention and service.
Risk Management & Compliance
-
Ensure compliance with AML/KYC policies, CBK guidelines, and Group standards.

Exercise due diligence in daily operations to mitigate compliance risks.

Support the Bank’s anti-money laundering initiatives and regulatory adherence.
Stakeholder Engagement
-
Collaborate with internal teams (Credit Analysts, Relationship Managers, Operations).

Liaise with external partners including lawyers, insurers, repossession agencies, and collection vendors.
Skills & Experience Required

Graduate degree with at least 1 year of experience in Credit/Debt Collection.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Knowledge of retail credit products and competitor offerings.

Good computer skills, including Credit MIS systems.

Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.

Project management basics are an added advantage.
