Position Overview
The U.S. Embassy to Kenya is seeking a qualified and motivated Consular Associate to join its Consular Section in Nairobi.
Reporting directly to a Consular Officer, the Consular Associate will perform a wide range of administrative and support functions across different units, including:

American Citizen Services (ACS)

Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV)

Immigrant Visa Unit (IV)
-
Fraud Prevention Unit (FPU)
The role involves assisting with consular services for U.S. citizens, supporting visa processing, handling public correspondence, and contributing to investigative and verification tasks. The successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.
Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative and operational support across Consular units (ACS, NIV, IV, and FPU).

Assist in non-adjudicatory visa processing, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulations.

Deliver customer service and information to U.S. citizens seeking consular assistance.

Handle correspondence with attorneys, government offices, congressional representatives, and the public.

Support consular officers with investigations and data verification.

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to consular services.

Adhere to confidentiality and security protocols in all consular operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
-
Completion of High School (KCSE or equivalent) is required.
Experience:
-
Minimum of two (2) years of office administration experience (for FP-07 Training Level), or
-
One (1) year of office administration experience (for FP-08 Training Level).
Skills and Competencies:

Strong organizational and administrative skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and with accuracy.
