We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and people-focused Head of People & Culture to join our leadership team in Nairobi, Kenya. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Key Responsibilities
The Head of People & Culture will oversee all aspects of Human Resources, ensuring alignment with VisionFund’s mission, values, and strategic direction. Responsibilities include:
1. P&C Strategy & Leadership

Develop and implement HR strategy in compliance with VisionFund Kenya and VisionFund International (VFI) standards.

Update HR policies, employee handbook, and ensure compliance with labor laws.

Lead organization-wide culture transformation initiatives.
2. Workforce Planning & Budgeting
-
Contribute to senior management planning with focus on manpower needs.

Prepare and manage HR budgets.
3. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
-
Oversee end-to-end recruitment and onboarding.

Ensure systematic, transparent, and values-driven hiring processes.
4. Compensation & Rewards
-
Conduct salary surveys and ensure competitive compensation packages.

Administer employee benefits and performance-based incentives.
5. Performance Management & Engagement
-
Lead performance appraisals using Workday.

Champion staff engagement and recognition programs.
6. Learning & Development
-
Identify training needs and implement staff capacity building.
-
Drive succession planning and talent development.
7. Employee Relations & Compliance
-
Handle grievance and disciplinary cases ethically and legally.

Ensure adherence to Kenya labor laws and safeguarding policies.
8. Change Management & Culture Building
-
Serve as change agent for organizational transformation.

Promote diversity, inclusion, and a respectful workplace.
Candidate Profile – Qualifications & Experience

Master’s/Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management or related field.

Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Social Sciences, Psychology, or related discipline.

Minimum 5 years’ HR leadership experience in progressively responsible roles.

Strong knowledge of Kenya labor laws and HR compliance.

Proven track record in performance management, recruitment, employee engagement, and HRIS systems (e.g., Workday).

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-
Practicing Christian with strong ethical values aligned to VisionFund’s mission.

Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
