Introduction to the team:

At Expedia Group, Data and Analytics are the core of all our strategy and decisions, responsible for the impactful insights that guide and optimize our global sales performance.

Our team supports the Supply Prioritization Engine, a data-driven product that generates targeted, high-value recommendations for commercial teams and lodging partners, helping them take the most impactful commercial actions to improve performance and remain competitive.

As a Data Scientist III, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the Supply Engine and the recommendations delivered through our supply channels (e.g. Account Management, Marketing) by monitoring the pipeline health and channel performance, and surfacing insights that enable data-driven decisions.

In this role you will:

  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance, stability, and outputs of the Supply Engine against key business metrics and operational expectations.

  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making and align the Supply Engine with commercial goals across supply channels.

  • Lead the development and delivery of dashboards, reporting, and analytical tools to monitor key performance indicators and support strategic initiatives.

  • Identify operational gaps and inefficiencies and proactively recommend improvements and automation opportunities.

  • Partner cross-functionally with product, technical, and commercial teams to identify and investigate issues, support prioritization, and influence improvements.

  • Clearly articulate decision rationale, methodology, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, using clear and compelling storytelling.

  • Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of learning and innovation.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • Preferred: 5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing data-driven processes, driving improvements in operational efficiency, and delivering insights that drive business impact.

  • Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, structuring, and transforming data, and experience working with complex data ecosystems are must-haves. Additional familiarity with Python or R is a plus.

  • Well-versed in building and maintaining reports in Tableau or similar data visualization tools.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and business acumen, with the ability to frame complex business problems as analytical tasks.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Excellent attention to detail, coupled with the ability to maintain a big-picture perspective.

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
