Programme duration: One year, with placement in a research division.

Purpose: To train young professionals in public policy research, provide on-the-job experience, expand knowledge, build professional networks, and produce publishable research outputs.

Eligibility: You must hold a Master’s degree and be below 35 years of age.

Research divisions you can choose from (pick one):
Macroeconomics, Modelling, Statistics, Predictive Analytics, Social Sector, Nutrition and Dietetics, Governance, Gender and Special Groups, Infrastructure and Economic Services, Trade and Foreign Policy, Private Sector Development, Productive Sector.

Required skills and competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, results-oriented mindset, computer literacy including at least one statistical package (R, STATA, SPSS, E-views), good interpersonal and communication skills, fluency in English, and legal residence in Kenya at the time of the programme.

Clearances required if selected: Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

Important rules about employment afterwards: KIPPRA will not offer employment after you complete the programme.

What to include in your application:
Indicate in the subject line that you are a KIPPRA-sponsored applicant. You must clearly state your preferred division in the application form. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

For public sector applicants: You must submit an endorsement from the Principal Secretary or CEO of your ministry, division, or agency.

Deadline: Monday, 21st April 2026, at 11:59 PM. Late applications will not be accepted.

What happens after submission: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
