Job Summary

Technically qualified petrol or diesel artisan responsible for managing and leading a team of technically qualified petrol or diesel artisans. The Team Leader will be required to manage the day to team execution regarding workflow and administration management.

Leading and continuously motivating a team to ensure exceptional performance outputs. Monitoring team KPI’s and ensuring monthly performance discussions take place to ensure optimal performance of the team. The team leader will be required to solve problems, foster well-constructed open communication to the team and respective reporting manager. Th team leader must ensure for the care and welfare of the team and create a team environment of cohesion to create a positive work environment and manage team conflict well.

The team leader will be required to focus on personal development plans for each team member and track and monitor the progression of the development. The team leader must coordinate with other departments to ensure execution of product processes.

Job Description

• Manage and report on cost utilisation, ensuring delivery of planned work within agreed budgets and parameters

• Monitor and manage team productivity, including service levels, call quality, abandoned call rates, and overall performance outputs

• Provide an advisory and consultative service to the business by recommending controls and processes that support legislative and regulatory compliance

• Support the Contact Centre Manager as required to ensure continuity of operational delivery

• Coordinate, plan, and execute daily team activities in line with predefined objectives, standard operating procedures, and service standards

• Promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork among peers and team members

• Participate in and facilitate development initiatives aligned to own growth and the development of team members

• Manage people performance, including performance tracking, coaching, and formal performance discussions within the area of responsibility

• Oversee and manage business processes relevant to the team’s operational scope

• Drive continuous process improvement to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness

• Ensure effective administration management and timely resolution of operational and customer queries

• Develop and implement appropriate solutions to meet customer and business requirements

• Ensure process adherence across all team workflows and operational activities

• Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships

• Lead and manage a team of technical and administrative staff, ensuring alignment to performance and service expectations

• Actively manage and mitigate reputational risk to the organisation

• Conduct daily resource planning to ensure delivery against agreed service level agreements (SLAs)

Education and Experience Required

• Red Seal Trade Certificate (Section 26D) as a Qualified Diesel Mechanic

• Higher Certificate or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification

Mechanical Engineering, Transport and Economics, Supply Chain, Business Management Studies

• Seven (7) years or more experience in leading a team within a Managed Maintenance and/or Operating Leasing and/or Fleet Management Contact Centre environment

• Experience in managing the maintenance of commercial vehicles

Education

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
