Personal Attributes for Research Assistants
Successful research assistant candidates should possess interpersonal and communication skills, be fluent in English, and have knowledge of basic statistical software for data entry, extraction, and reporting including STATA, SPSS, and E-VIEWS. For graphic designers, computer skills in desktop publishing software are required.
Qualifications for Fixed Term Contract Support Departments and Divisions
The fixed contract staff in this category are engaged for a defined period for positions in the staff establishment with approved budgets. These roles support both research and non-research Departments.
Educational Requirements
Candidates need a minimum of a Diploma or a First degree from a recognized institution in the following disciplines: Finance/Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, Communication, ICT, Law, Records Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Business Administration, Business & Office Management, Secretarial Studies, CPA (K), KNEC Craft Certificate in Secretarial Studies with Shorthand III (minimum 120 w.p.m), Typewriting III (50 w.p.m), Computerized Document Processing III, and Business English III/Communication III, plus any other relevant qualifications from a recognized institution.
Personal Attributes for Support Staff
Candidates should possess interpersonal and communication skills, be fluent in English, and have computer skills.
Qualifications for Casuals
The Institute is looking for casuals to support operations on an as-needed basis. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to perform various tasks based on business requirements. Casuals maintain workplace cleanliness, follow health and safety guidelines, and assist in specific tasks including stock handling and administrative work.
Educational Requirements for Casuals
Applicants must have at least a Form 4 certificate (high school completion). A college certificate in any field will be an added advantage. Candidates must reside in Nairobi or its immediate surroundings.
